The short version
Your bank statement never leaves your browser. We only collect two things: anonymous, aggregate analytics, and — if you choose to join our waitlist — the email address you give us. We don't sell data, and we don't have your statements, because we never receive them.
What we collect
Anonymous analytics (Google Analytics 4). We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage: page views, approximate region, device and browser type, and referring site. This data is not tied to your identity and never includes your file name, your transaction amounts, or any content from your statement. The conversion itself is not reported to Google.
Waitlist email (only if you opt in). If you submit the form for our upcoming Pro features, we store the email address you enter. That is the only field we ask you for. We use it to tell you when Pro launches, and nothing else.
Standard server data. Like any website, our host records standard technical request data — including the IP address that submits the waitlist form — which we use solely to prevent spam and abuse (for example, to rate-limit repeated submissions).
What we never collect
Your statement files, transaction descriptions, amounts, balances, account numbers, and anything else inside the documents you convert. These are processed entirely inside your browser and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. There is no server that receives them.
Where your data lives
Waitlist email addresses are stored in Cloudflare D1, a database running on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Anonymous analytics are held by Google under your browser's existing Google Analytics setup. We do not maintain any other store of personal data, and we do not maintain any store of documents at all.
Third parties we use
We keep this list deliberately short:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous, aggregate usage analytics.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, CDN, and the D1 database that holds waitlist emails.
Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy. We don't share your waitlist email with anyone else.
Your choices
You can block or opt out of Google Analytics at any time using your browser settings, an extension, or Google's own opt-out tools; the converter works fully without it. If you have joined the waitlist and want your email removed, just ask and we'll delete it.
Children
ClearStatement is a tool for adults managing their own finances, and it is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Because the architecture is built around not collecting your documents, we don't expect those fundamentals to change.

ClearStatement is an independent project. We don't have a registered company address or a formal Data Protection Officer, and we'd rather say so than list details that don't exist.
