Why ClearStatement exists
Turning a bank statement into a spreadsheet is a mundane task, and it shouldn't be a risky one. Yet most online converters ask you to upload your statement — a document containing your account numbers, balances, and every transaction you've made — to a server you know nothing about, and then trust that it gets deleted.
ClearStatement takes the opposite approach. The entire conversion happens inside your browser. Your file is never uploaded, never stored, and never seen by us, because there is no server in the path of your document to begin with. Privacy isn't a feature bolted on top here; it's the architecture underneath.
What we believe
Financial data deserves the same care as a locked filing cabinet, not a public inbox. We think the default for financial tools should be local and private, and that free shouldn't mean "you are the product." That's why ClearStatement has no account, no signup, and no data to sell — there's simply nothing on our side to monetize.
What's free, and what's next
The converter is free today and works on statements from eight major US banks plus most other layouts. Down the road we're exploring a Pro tier with batch conversion and extra export options. If that's useful to you, the waitlist on the converter page will let you know the moment it's ready — and all it asks for is your email.
Who's behind it
ClearStatement is built and maintained by one independent developer. There's no company behind it, no team, no investors, and no office — just a person who wanted a private way to convert statements and decided to build it. That's also why we're careful not to claim certifications, badges, or scale we don't have.
If the tool saves you time, that's the whole point. If something's broken or you have an idea, we'd genuinely like to hear about it.
